If October was a sentence.
It’s been the hardest month and I am still sober.
The questions refuse to exit, so here I am building a room for them to rest.

October was many things. I am going to share one of my favorite sentences from the month with you, here:
2023_1007: Gratitude for having been young for what seems only the splittest of seconds and never, ever beautiful.

Harvesting what I have been harboring.
Letting go of things isn’t so hard when you realize it makes space for things that are so much better.
My centre almost didn’t hold, it still might not, but here’s to hope.
Give the Earth time to make the space where you can see clearly.
Stopped banishing my inner demons and finally invited them to sit.
At least one of them is a dragon, who just wants space to spread its wings.
Eclipse season is trying to take me out, but crying has been good for my complexion.
Even when I am in new places, and around nothing I recognize, I am loved
Remember to watch the moon rise and touch many things: people you love, books, your dog’s fur, the newly fallen snow, your toes in the bath.
Everything happens by itself, but only when I stop running.
Maybe being an artist is enough.
(My singleness is not a waiting period before my life begins, I’ve already begun creating.)
A war broke out, and I decided to stay.
